Lecturer Long Gaoping from Jinan University visited the Center for Relativity and Gravitation,Beijing Normal University from January 21 to 31, 2024

On January 8, 2024, the academic conference of Beijing Normal University Center for Relativity and Gravity was successfully held in Beijing Normal University (Haidian campus). The academic conference was attended by 49 teachers and postgraduates from Beijing Normal University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Chinese National Academy of Sciences, Perimeter Institute of Canada and other institutions. Participants exchanged and discussed cutting-edge topics in black hole physics, gravitational waves, astrophysics, cosmology, general relativity, quantum gravity and other fields, and made 18 presentations. Zhao Zheng, Wang Yongcheng, Pei Shouyong and Zhu Jianyang, retired professors of gravity and Astrophysics of Beijing Normal University, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Lecturer Guo Minyong presided over the opening ceremony of the 2023 Black Hole Image Symposium.

Qu Dongxue (postdoctoral fellow from Perimeter Institute, Canada) visited Center for Relativity and Gravitation,Beijing Normal University from December 14, 2023 to January 14, 2024.

From August 7, 2023 to August 12, 2023, BNU Summer School and Workshop on Quantum Gravity were successfully held in Beijing Normal University (Haidian Campus). There were 31 teachers and postgraduates from Beijing Normal University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou University, South China University of Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University and other institutions attended the Summer School and Workshop. Prof. Ma Yongge(Beijing Normal University), Prof. Yang Jinsong(Guizhou University), Prof. Zhang Xiangdong(South China University of Technology), Dr. Ding You(Beijing Jiaotong University), Dr. Long Gaoping(Jinan University), Dr. Zhang Cong(Erlangen-Nuremberg University), Dr. Qu Dongxue(Perimeter Institute) and Dr. Liu Hongguang(Erlangen-Nuremberg University) gave presentations on canonical loop quantum gravity and spinform.

Liu Hongguang (postdoctoral fellow from Erlangen-Nuremberg University , Germany) visited Center for Relativity and Gravitation, Beijing Normal University from July 23, 2023 to October 7, 2023.

Qu Dongxue (postdoctoral fellow from Perimeter Institute, Canada) visited Center for Relativity and Gravitation,Beijing Normal University from May 23, 2023 to August 20, 2023.

From April 15, 2023 to April 16, 2023, Beijing Normal University Seminar on Gravitation and Relativity and Memorial Conference for Mr. Liang Canbin was successfully held in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. A total of 85 people attended the conference, and 38 people gave conference reports on gravitation, astrophysics and cosmology. Prof. Ma Yongge, Prof. Ling Yi, Prof. Gao Sijie, Prof. Wu Xiaoning, Prof. Yang Xuejun, Prof. Cao Zhoujian, Prof. Zhang Jingyi, Lecturer Ding You and Dr. Liang Guirong shared the life story and teaching philosophy of Mr. Liang Canbin at the memorial event.

Professor Cao Zhoujian  will give a talk on "Gravitational Waves and Machine Learning" at the Quantum-Cosmic Physics Frontier Forum on March 4, 2023, and Professor Ma Yongge will give a talk on "From General Relativity to Quantum Gravity -- Continuing Einstein's Unfinished Revolution" at the Quantum-Cosmic Physics Frontier Forum on March 5, 2023.
